About the Practice
I understand architecture as a practice; a field of continuous inquiry and refinement:
This inquiry doesn’t end with a correct or definitive answer, but is continuously refined and updated through exploration within various media; the architectural drawing, the physical model, the written word.
I’m neither strictly traditional nor obsessively innovative. We respect tradition and typology, but we do not hold these precedents as sacred and untouchable. I seek rather to continue the work of refining architecture for the particular constraints of today’s time and the place.
The result is a practice that is grounded and quietly confident; beautiful and enduring.
Practice Philosophy
Health Starts At Home:
It is an unfortunate reality that despite every attempt at maintaining a healthy lifestyle, it is our homes that fall most short. From poor air quality, to questionable materials, to mold and mildew issues, the home environment can often be the primary impediment to truly feeling our best
That’s why whether planning a renovation or new-build project, KLPOA incorporates principles developed by the International Well Living Institute throughout the process and ensures the final project has your wellbeing as its foundation.

About the Architect
Human Work Done By Humans, For Humans:
Architecture has always been an expression of human passion and creativity. The adoption and usage of artificial intelligence for design and architectural work is deeply troubling.
Throughout history all the best architecture comes from our humanity; our relationships with our clients, our human quirks and creativity, and the serendipity that comes from craft and exploration; not algorithms
That’s why my Practice categorically rejects the usage of artificial intelligence in design and production of architecture, ensuring that our work remains fully human and retains its value as a practice.
If you feel as I do; if you value craft with all its imperfections; if you choose the harder but enduring path; you can rest assured that any work you commission from the Practice and, in addition, any communication or interaction with KLPOA will be carried out, in full, by a human being.
